Florida Player Wins $214 Million Powerball Jackpot

Florida was left celebrating its 17th jackpot win on Monday night as a single ticket holder from the Sunshine State matched all the numbers. The grand prize was worth $214.9 million.

Draw Details

The winning numbers for May 6 were 7, 23, 24, 56 and 60, with Powerball 25. The Power Play was 2X, and more than 385,000 players picked up prizes across all the different levels.

Only one participant - from Idaho - matched all five main numbers without the Powerball. As Power Play is automatically included on tickets in Idaho, the winner’s payout was doubled from $1 million to $2 million.

Go to the Powerball Payouts page to see a breakdown of all the prizes won. You can also choose your state and find out the number of winners in each location.

Fortune Favors Florida

Florida is firmly established among the 10 most successful Powerball states, in terms of jackpots won, despite only joining the game in 2009.

However, Monday’s success actually marked the first time that the jackpot had been won in Florida since 2021.

The cash value of the $214 million jackpot was $100.1 million. The lucky winner can decide whether to take the full amount as an annuity or the lump sum. They have 180 days from the draw date to come forward.

Big wins in Florida are regarded as a matter of public record, but the rules have changed recently to help keep lucky players anonymous for longer. The identity of winners can now be kept private for 90 days after the prize has been claimed, and will then only be disclosed if someone requests the information.

Powerball.net will publish more details about the winner if they get announced. In the meantime, keep up with the winning numbers every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday night.
