Powerball Jackpot Now in Top Four Largest Prizes

The Powerball jackpot keeps on growing after every draw and it has now reached $835 million. The grand prize has already rolled over 29 times and it hasn’t been won since Wednesday, July 19, 2023.

The winning numbers for the Monday, September 25 draw were 10, 12, 22, 36, 50, and the red Powerball number was 4. The Power Play multiplier was 2x.

No one managed to match all six numbers but given the high number of ticket sales, there were over 1 million winners in total. Out of those, four lucky players won $1 million each for matching five numbers. Three of the tickets were sold in Florida—two of them in Kissimmee, more specifically at the Publix located at 3343 South Orange Blossom Trail and at the Walmart Fuel Station located at 2845 North Old Lake Wilson Road, with the third one being sold at the Circle K located at 31734 East State Road 44 in Eustis. The fourth winning ticket was purchased in Oregon.

Lucky States

Powerball was launched more than 30 years ago, in 1992, in 23 states. Currently, there are 45 participating states, however this means that some states had more jackpot winners than others. Nevertheless, some states seem to have more players claiming big jackpots. Let’s explore the top five luckiest states for Powerball!

Indiana comes first with 39 jackpot winners, covering 9.7% percent of total jackpot winners. Missouri is next with 31 winners and a 7.7% percentage, followed by Minnesota with 22 winners. Pennsylvania and Wisconsin had the same number of winners so far, a total of 19.

But are there any states who didn’t have any jackpot winners? Unfortunately, yes. Wyoming, U.S. Virgin Islands, North Dakota, Mississippi, and Maine didn’t have a single jackpot winner since they joined Powerball.

Even though the chances of winning the jackpot are small, 1 in 292,201,338.00 to be exact, there are other ways in which state lotteries can give their players a chance to win other Powerball prizes. For example, the Double Play option has a top cash prize of $10 million and it only costs $1.00. It was added in August 2021 and, since then, 17 lottery jurisdictions have introduced this option to Powerball tickets. These states are: Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee and Washington.

The current Powerball jackpot is estimated at $835 million, with a cash value of approximately $390.4 million. Draws take place every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 PM EST, so you have three chances to win every week. Grab your tickets now and you might become one of the lucky winners!
