Minnesota Woman Claims $1 Million Powerball Prize with Quick Pick Ticket

Minnesota Woman Claims $1 Million Powerball Prize with Quick Pick Ticket

Pam Lestico and her daughters, Kelly Miller and Lori Finken, picked up a Powerball prize worth $1 million having matched five main numbers in the drawing on December 9th. Pam, a resident of Little Falls, Minnesota is a regular lottery player and her persistence paid off, as her Quick Pick ticket turned out to be a winner.

Where was the winning ticket sold?

The lucky player bought the winning Quick Pick ticket at Casey's General Store in Little Falls. The store has a reputation for bringing luck to lottery players, as it has previously sold two scratch-game tickets worth $50,000 and a $73,301 ticket for another popular lottery game in Minnesota. The store will receive a vendor’s bonus of $5,000 for issuing the golden slip.

What were the winning Powerball numbers?

The winning Powerball numbers for December 9th were 25, 36, 37, 55, 60 with Powerball 6, and the Power Play number was 5x. 765,316 ticket holders won prizes in the drawing and the jackpot rolled over to $230 million, as there was no top prize winner on the night.

In addition to Pam’s $1 million win, two other players also won a Match 5 prize. The tickets were sold in Virginia and Washington, although the two winners are yet to come forward. You can check your numbers for the drawing and find further information about winners and payouts on the Numbers page.

Pam found out that she was $1 million richer on the Sunday morning after the drawing. Her daughter Lori spoke about her mom’s win, saying, “She was surprisingly calm.” Pam’s other daughter, Kelly, was anything but, admitting “I was in my pajamas, jumping up and down and screaming…she has a heart of gold…she deserves it.”

Minnesota Success

Pam’s success follows three other Match 5-winning ticket holders in Minnesota this year. Sobhi Elgharabawi of Maplewood won $1 million on November 18th, having bought his ticket at Robbinsdale Food Market on 4005 W Broadway Avenue. Jean Davis from Waverly won on August 23rd and Greg Anderson celebrated his success earlier in the year on March 18th, picking up a $1 million-winning ticket in Hermantown.
