$139.3 Million Powerball Jackpot Goes to Ohio

One lucky player from Ohio will enjoy more than fireworks this Fourth of July as they won an amazing Powerball jackpot worth millions. The location of where the winning ticket was sold has not been released yet.

The winning numbers for the draw held on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 were 2, 26, 33, 55, 57, with the Powerball number being 22. The Power Play was 2X. There were 388,651 winners in total, so make sure you check your tickets to see if you won anything. Three players were very close to winning the jackpot and only matched five winning numbers. Two of those tickets were sold in California, while the third one was purchased in Pennsylvania. The winner in Pennsylvania will get $1 million, while those from California will receive just over $397,000 each as prizes in the Golden State are paid out on a pari-mutuel basis and their calculated amounts depend on ticket sales. According to the Ohio Lottery rules, the winner will have 180 days to come forward and claim their prize. They can choose between receiving their winnings as annuity or as a single lump sum payment worth $66.5 million. 

Powerball in Ohio

Last night’s draw brought the fifth Powerball jackpot win to the Buckeye State. This is the third-largest grand prize won in Ohio, with the first place being occupied by last year’s win on April 19. With an amount of $252.6 million, the jackpot was won by a single ticket purchased at a GetGo shop in Macedonia, Summit County. The first prize was claimed by the Crazy Luck Trust, and they chose the $134.6 million cash option.
